How to Add New Product?

Before adding a new simple product, you have to create ‘Root Category’, ‘Subcategory’, ‘Brand’, ‘Manufacturer’, ‘Attributes’, ‘Tax’, ‘Price List’ information so that your product creating process is uninterrupted.

Note: While bulk uploading product information through spreadsheet, you’ll not require the aforementioned steps to be performed.

Step 1: To add a new product, choose ‘Inventory’ menu. Select ‘Products’ from the list of submenus that appear.


Note: You can also click on ‘Add Product’ submenu.

Step 2: You can find the ‘Add New Product’ button at the top right corner of the webpage. Click on it.


Step 3: Choose a category and subcategory under which you want to add a product and click ‘Select’ button


Step 4: A popup will appear, where you can choose between ‘Simple’ or ‘Configurable’ product type options and click ‘Create’ button to create the product.


Step 5: Select ‘Simple’ product type. A series of tabs will appear.


Step 6: Under the ‘Key Info’ tab, provide all the necessary information like ‘Product Name’, ‘Brand Name’, ‘Manufacturer’, ‘SKU’, ‘Product ID’ values.


Click ‘Save & Continue Button’ to move on to the next tab.

Step 7: Under the ‘Description’ tab enter the description, barcode details, ‘Min quantity to order’ (sales order minimum quantity), ‘Min quantity to purchase order’ (purchase order minimum quantity) and click the ‘Save & Continue’ button.

‘Min quantity to order’ is the minimum quantity in which the products should be ordered by the customer.

‘Min quantity to purchase order’ is the minimum quantity in which the products should be ordered by the business owner while procuring it from suppliers.


Once done with everything, click ‘Save & Continue’

Step 8: Under ‘Price/Offer’ tab, specify the sales price in the ‘Price’ field, cost price in the ‘Cost Price’ field, select the tax applicable for the product, ‘Alternative Pricing’ for groups (if any) and ‘Special Price’ (if any). Click ‘Save & Continue’ button.

‘Price’ is the selling price of the product which customers get to see in the frontend.

‘Cost Price’ is the price which you procure the product from suppliers.

In the Tax field, select a tax that will be applicable for the product you are creating. Whether the tax provided here is inclusive or exclusive the price tag can be under ‘Settings’ (menu) -> ‘Tax Types’ (submenu).

‘Alternative Pricing’ gives you the chance to create customer-specific-pricing for the product you are creating.

To create alternative pricing, select the customer-specific-pricing groups and specify the price in the field adjacent to it.

Using the “+” button, you can add many alternative pricings for the same product.

The ‘Add Special Price’ checkbox lets you add discounted offer price for a product. You can also specify the time period during the product will be available in the offer price.


Step 9: Under ‘Media’ tab, upload the image of the product. Click ‘Save & Continue’.


In ‘More Info’ tab, select one among the predefined attribute types provided and click ‘Save & Continue’.


If there are no attributes already assigned to this category, the screen will appear like the one given below. To create a new attribute for this product, click the ‘Add a Attribute’ button. If not, click the ‘Continue’ button.


Now, select the ‘Category’, ‘Subcategory’, to under which attribute will be created. Select the field type to either ‘Text ‘ or ‘Dropdown’.

If you click ‘Dropdown’ as the field type, mention the options for the dropdown list using the ‘+’ button.

Click ‘Save’ button.

Step 10: Under the ‘Shipping Info’ tab specify the package dimensions, ‘Shipping Weight’ and click ‘Save & Continue’


Step 11: Under the ‘Sales Channels’ tab, select the other sales channels in which you want to sell the product by selecting the ‘Publish’ action link adjacent to the sales channel.


The newly added product will appear in the ‘Products’ page.
